Events Code of Conduct

This code of conduct applies to all events run by Careful Industries or Promising Trouble. Careful Trouble is committed to ensuring everyone is able to participate fully and safely in our events. We may ask anyone who does not adhere to this code of conduct to leave an event.

Care is the organising principle for everything we do: care for and about people and the planet, combined with a rigorous and diligent approach to investigating uncertainty. We invite everyone to embrace this principle in the way they show up at our events.

When attending our events you are agreeing to the following behaviours:

Respect and Inclusivity

We value both lived and learned experience. We will treat all individuals with respect, empathy, and kindness, fostering an environment where everyone feels welcome and heard. Harassment and unprofessional behaviour in any form will not be tolerated.

Confidentiality and Privacy

We respect the privacy of others and will not share any sensitive or personal information without consent.

Knowledge Sharing

We recognise that knowledge is a collective asset. We encourage the sharing of expertise, insights, and resources to help one another learn and grow. We encourage both asking questions and offering guidance to create a dynamic exchange of ideas.

Self Awareness

Those who are more confident speaking are aware of the space they are taking up and make space for those who are less likely to speak.

Continuous Learning

We work in a constantly evolving field, and we are committed to continuous learning. We encourage participants to stay curious and embrace opportunities for learning and growth.

This Code of Conduct was directly inspired by the Community Tech Community of Practice Care Charter, collectively developed by the members of the community and written up by Roseanna Dias.
