A Careful Approach to AI

Training, tools and workshops for socially responsible AI strategies

Hype-free

Our three-stage approach creates space for business leaders and product teams to reflect and create on how AI and automation can, and cannot, help deliver their business goals.

Three boxes: box 1: TRAINING understand the social and environmental context of AI; TOOLS AND WORKSHOPS box 2: create careful strategies and box 3: anticipate outcomes with product playthroughs

Our Three-Step Process

Let’s make AI work for 8 billion people, not 8 billionaires.

  • Background Pattern of Arrows

Understanding the social and environment impacts of AI

Training sessions that break AI systems into easy-to-understand components.

Topics covered include the environmental impact AI systems; the ways data can amplify power imbalances; and how automated decision-making systems can intensify bias.

Participants will come away with an understanding of the emergent and established impacts of AI, equipped with a set of critical questions to help cut through media hype and energetic sales pitches.

    Creating Careful AI Strategies

Tools and workshops to help your organisation unpack how AI can - and cannot - deliver your strategic needs

Bringing together foresight and futures techniques with our policy and product expertise, these sessions will help identify where AI and automation could deliver benefit and harm, surface risks, and guide you through hype-free strategy setting.

  • Background Pattern

    Anticipating Outcomes

Working through future scenarios to bring to life how AI will help and harm your products and services.

These sessions will include product playthroughs that take the guess work out of delivery and give strategic and hands-on delivery teams a set of anticipatory tools to take the guess work out of implementing AI solutions.

How we work

We combine an active foresight and futures practice with deep technical expertise and policy and product experience.

Care is the organising principle for everything we do: care for and about people and the planet, combined with a rigorous and diligent approach to investigating uncertainty.

We are constantly learning, always curious, and strive to be inclusive and accepting.

We champion patient innovation, inclusive growth, and feminism for the 99%.

We are wayfinders not competitors.
